In this role you will:
Set the annual roadmap for Node features, performance and architecture
Lead 3 cross-functional squads (Dev, QA, DevOps) – 15 engineers total
Own release cadence, CI/CD and on-prem delivery pipelines
Mentor tech leads, hire new talent and drive OKRs
Collaborate with Product & Security Research to match the roadmap to threats
Job requirements
In this role you’ll need:
7 + years total software-engineering experience, 3 + years leading a cross-functional org of ~10-25 engineers (Developers, QA, DevOps)
Demonstrated ability to craft and execute annual engineering plans + org design changes - from OKRs through hiring and mentoring
Proven ownership of customer-deployed, high-performance proxy/gateway software (Nginx modules, Envoy, HAProxy, or similar)
Track record of driving release cadence, quality processes and architecture decisions for a single core product
Familiarity with CI/CD for on-prem-deployable components and observability stacks
Excellent written and verbal communication in a fully remote, globally distributed setting
Hands-on knowledge of C/C++ on Linux, performance profiling and secure coding practices.
Nice to have:
Experience shipping software that runs in customers’ own cloud or data-center environments (air-gapped, regulated, multi-OS)
Previous leadership of QA automation teams using Python-based integration and performance tests
Familiarity with Kubernetes internals
Built developer-first / API-first products or security tooling.
