About this opportunity
As the Head of QA, you will be pivotal in shaping our product’s quality assurance strategy within the Engineering organization. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will drive QA excellence across two core Engineering groups — Node and Web. While we develop the full QA structure, this role will also serve as the Web QA lead, directly overseeing Web QA operations and strategy.
Our focus on automation will be central to your mission, as you work to establish scalable, efficient testing processes that support rapid development cycles without compromising quality. You’ll lead a talented and growing QA team, mentoring both QA leads and line members while implementing automation-driven QA practices. Your leadership will be essential in building out a comprehensive QA strategy that ensures high standards across all stages of product development.
Our current QA stack includes Playwright for web testing, Allure as our QA Ops tool, and Jira Confluence for task and knowledge management.
Responsibilities:
Create and continuously refine the QA strategy, prioritizing automation across both Node and Web groups to streamline testing processes and improve coverage
Initially take on the lead role for Web QA, overseeing day-to-day testing and process optimization until a dedicated Web QA lead is established
Own end-to-end QA processes across the Engineering organization, optimizing and integrating testing frameworks with our CI/CD pipeline, emphasizing automation
Build and lead a high-performing QA team. Mentor QA leads and team members, fostering growth, collaboration, and consistency across testing efforts
Partner with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to align QA practices with platform requirements and provide long-term quality solutions
Leverage automation tools, particularly Playwright, alongside Allure and Jira Confluence to enhance test efficiency and reliability. Focus on continuous improvements, utilizing automation to drive faster release cycles and higher quality standards
Develop a long-term QA roadmap aligned with the company’s technology roadmap. Establish best practices for automation, reporting on quality metrics, test coverage, and QA performance to senior leadership.
Define and track OKRs and KPIs for QA success. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in QA methodologies, with a focus on leveraging automation for impactful results.
